The Fourth Day of…

Mantra in the Moonlight

Mantra in the Moonlight

This incessant fairy is out of the lantern and would like to lead today’s post. Meh. Let her.

Many people claim they have no inclination to read poetry. Mantra for a Muse could change a few minds.

1. Nothing in the entire book can be sung to The Yellow Rose of Texas. (None of it would fit in a greeting card.)

2. One chapter is dedicated to humor and laughter.

3. The artwork is amazing.

4. Although love can be found in its pages, Mantra for a Muse has a chapter called “Shadows & Things Which Go Bump in the Night”. It is not all gooey sappiness.

5. Knowing how to read between the lines is not necessary to read these poems and come away with meaning.

6. Some of the rhyme scheme is so subtle, you may never notice it is not free-form poetry.

7. One of the poems with more than 100 lines (and there are a few) pokes fun at social media… specifically Facebook.

8. Ever read a poem where each line begins with the next letter of the alphabet?

9. If you peel back the layers, you will find something different in a poem you already read and were sure you had seen all it had to offer.

10. One poem turns Hallmark Day on its head entirely, proving some of the best gifts do not come from a store.

11. Would you like to go on a plane ride in a bomber? Mantra will take you.

12. Mantra for a Muse introduces you to the lantern-shaking fairy whose poems stretch thirty years.

    • You know, I have met many, many people who are convinced they cannot understand poetry. You claim to be one. You have always gotten something out of my poems. For me, it is a ringing endorsement of which I am very proud, Tess. xxx
