Dueling

For those of you who have occasion to know why this song is fitting for me, you should get a giggle. No sense looking at the screen, there is not a video attached. Merely listen to the music as you read. It sets the mood…perfectly.

Dueling

The pelting grows
softer, but only for
the moment.
It is the calm in
between the
storms.

First came the flurry
of crackling
electricity.
Then ravenous
thunder peals
ensued.

The rivulets stream steadily
smooth from the
eave’s edge.
Freckles dot the view
through inky
glass.

They are all to be seen since
the Cheshire moon
went and hid.
Bullied by roiling
clouds and
lightning.

Despite hundreds of thousands
of miles in between
them,
The sky simply
is not big
enough.

I did not fall into spaghetti westerns until most of the character actors were dead. It brings be to a different time, which I have had the chance to partake in dribs and drabs. They all remind me of my great grandparents’ farm. The countryside could have been the set of any of those movies. {HUGZ} Red.
