I love it when I win!

For everyone following me on social media, you are well aware I am on a campaign to help Bearman win the Cartoonist Studio’s editorial contest. I have been posting every few hours with his current submission for you to stop by and mash the green button for his toon.

This is the first day of week six. We have made it past the halfway point. Today’s editorial is up, so make your way to go vote!

What is this win?

You all recall when I posted about Bearman MAD about charity in May for his fourth annual charity drive. We did our best to break his bank. By the end of week three he was seriously over the $500 each for  Cincinnati FreeStore FoodbankDowns Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati and Crayons to Computers.

You really cannot miss the green hair.

One of the biggest ways to contribute was to use Bearman’s avatar in a web comic or other fan art. Ten very talented artists took him up on it, and he donated $10 to the cause for each of them. Overall, some of the most talented artists on the web used that signature green hair in their art.

When the charity drive was over, he pooled all of the images and challenged his blog followers (especially those of us without artistic offerings) to list who had done which work. As luck would have it, even though I was not the first one to the post (like I am on time for anything), I was the first one to correctly identify all of the art to the respective artists.

Call me a cheat, but I had visited all of the blogs when he left links along the way. (Psst…I actually do check out the blogs you post when you do award shows and blogger features.)

Yes, I picked which one.

So, in appreciation of my support for those who support him, Bearman sent me a tee from his webstore, Wack Sack.

Bearmaniac

Now, with his thousands of circlers and followers, Bearman has an elite class of fans who earn the right to be Bearmaniacs. Yours truly has now joined the ranks.

If you have not already been over to Beartoons to see what all the brouhaha is about, you are missing out. Stop by and drop my name if you can handle a bit of ribbing. Stop into Wack Sack. I am sure you can find something delightfully irreverent to drop in your cart.

And be sure to vote for Bearman’s editorials at the Cartoonist Studio. With fewer participants, the competition is getting stiffer. You can vote every six hours (and the timer is really stinking accurate). If you have a Facebook login, you do not have to give Cartoonist Studio your email address…but if you want to vote twice, you can register with the site via email as well. (*Whistles, innocently.* What?)

In the search box, type in Bearman or click on the “B” to sort the entrants. You have to manually find his editorial to vote for it. Make sure you are voting for HIS editorial before you push the VOTE button.

Thank you!

Click on the link under the editorial to go directly to the vote page.

Did you go vote yet? Can you get a friend to help us stuff the ballot box? What is your favorite thing in the Wack Sack?

  2. I’ve been following Bearman’s blog for almost four years now. As you already know he’s a talented and consistently funny blogger. Nice to see his wit catching on.. I’ve seen your gravatar on his site many times. Now I can put a face to that gravatar! 🙂 I’ve been out of my country of Thailand for now 6 weeks working on raising funds from my hill tribe charity project but should return soon. When I have more time I plan on doing a couple of things for the green haired man myself. Great post!! I’m sure he appreciates it.

      • Whoa, After reading all the comments I can’t help but feel a little jealous… not because of all the attention on B’man (well that too) but because I thought I had him all to myself in my little corner of the blogosphere all these years. -Good to know he actually does have a life! Lol /Kidding. (not really) 🙂 Seriously, I love that you love him and I’m happy to share him as long as you don’t use him up. 🙂 I kind of like it here, you all seem really nice. I have some time today so I think I’m going to poke around some. Have a Great Day!

Now about me: (I love this part) My next decision: I’m about to split my blog into two. one personal and the other about my son’s charity project. for 6 weeks now I’ve been very busy in two countries attempting to obtain proper paperwork and secure a deal with a buyer for a ton of beautiful organically grown raw coffee bean! This coffee is grown at the perfect altitude, cared for and picked at the perfect time by the Karen hilltribe of northern Thailand. Here’s how it will work: My charity gives them Fair Trade prices which they’ve NEVER received before (benefiting the village allowing the villageers to build important infrastructure desperately needed), sells it to a (yet to be secured) buyer at a “fair” price (key word “fair” buyers always pay premium dollar for high grade coffee). We use 100% of our profit to support our project (which in turn helps hilltribe villages with special needs). -and that’s just one of the ways we will fund our project. We get creative folks!

I cannot wait to get back to blogging- I miss it. If you want, go to my blog for pics of the Lahu hilltribe project. It’ll tug at your heartstrings… Soon I will post an update on that project- finally! http://www.trippinwithrip.com

        • I adore this! My mother works a medical mission to a coffee plantation in Nicaragua every year. And being a premium coffee hound myself, this is so up my alley. Stay in touch, and I will be ecstatic to help you promote it. I am going to move the tail of your message to the Green Room. When you have time, you can peruse through there and meet with some of the awesome M3 Readers. More than a few of them would be glad to support you! I am so glad Bearman introduced us!

And I promise not to use him up. 😉

      • We’ve got some very interesting fundraising ideas. Read my reply to Red below and you’ll see. Remember that pic of me sitting at the front of the hut with all the women of the village? Well Rip said we should do the same pic again with everyone wearing the Some Guy shirt using the graphic you made for Rip- how ez would that be (not to mention cheap)? We’d go one extra and put your weblink on back for trekkers who come through. I think it’d be funny as hell when they trek above the clouds and then see your weblink. You know they’d at least write it down and google it later. It’s bound to come up at some point in a comment, no? I’m telling you those villagers would wear those tshirts til they wore them out. They have no idea what the shirts say they just know they look like Papa Rip! 🙂
