Saturday Evening Post

Extra Large Coffee CupYes, yes. I know. It is not evening. It is the quiet time after the witching hour. Everyone will assemble at the appropriate hour, so I will be waiting for you. Grab a cuppa and snuggle in. A lot has happened. Let’s talk.

Ugh.

When faced with the good news/bad news scenario, I always choose bad first to end on a better note. Inner positivity. I have a stranglehold on it. While I spent a significant portion of this week frustrated by entities and agencies who said you cannot do this until you that but you have to do the other first with the one who does not want you to this in the first place, I had a tangle with No Daddy.

No Daddy SignYou may have noticed the missing share bar we all love at the bottom of the screen. Not to worry. In a little over two weeks, it will be back. It seems their injection tests, which I cannot replicate, are assuming a load of facts not in evidence and claiming I have this massive security breach which would allow spammers to hack other sites. The only solution they offer is not to use …wait for it… WordPress.

Needless to say, that is not going to happen. I am unplugging their scam security branch and removing their security badges after the first. I will reinstall the bar as soon as I have done the hacking I need to do to assure they will stay out. They have conveniently told me what they have no right to access. (Mumbles, “Yeah, right,” and rolls eyes.)

My agent at the Library of Congress deserves a medal of honor. She did a fabulous job of getting all of the LCCN to me so we can finalize all the books for print. Come 01FEB13, RedmundPro will have twelve books offered in print, PDF, ebook and Kindle. Yes, the new FTP book is due out 01FEB13.

New authors are signing with RP. I foresee being as busy as ever for the next… until we are finished. I think I should begin naming my future grandchildren for the purposes of delegation.

Stats

While the million word meter suffers, the book meter is going up steadily. I am nearing the end of another book and was just pitched an idea for yet another book. It may come between the sequel to DI and the the debut of the crime drama. Have to see what Mantra says. She has neared the end of another book of poetry. We will have to see how much fractal art needs to find it way into it.

Speaking of…

I enjoyed your answers for naming the fractals from Wordless (after) Wednesday.

Janet loved the plastic (#5), and the name Wormholes was her contribution. John latched onto the reptilian nature with Dragon Magic. It did have that bubbly Puff look to the background. Ian said Web in the Jewel Cave. Its name:

Larval Cells

#4 was a serene Julian. John’s idea of Baroque was apt given its feel. Colleen came the closest to the name I chose with Coffee. Indeed, I had breakfast on the brain. I could see a tatted tablecloth on a lathed end table. I chose:

Stop for Bikkies

Val guessed the blue one was Eye Spy, and John rightly thought to name it Radar. It reminded El Guapo of Atari. Although I definitely see those answers, after the part of the soul I could not see, I named it:

Willful Blindness

#2 was a fun one which was named for its color Emerald by John. Ian thought it looked like Virus DNA. Guap named it Flake. I like Val’s idea of Fly In. In deference to Walt Disney’s Fantasia, Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite and the Russian Dance, I dubbed it:

Purple Russians

The first one was a fun flash of color without loads of definition. Check out all the guesses and see what we are talking about in the first place. This one was a great example of how we all see something different in art when we partake. I named it:

Vegas Fan Dance

I can see where everyone got the names they chose. Can you see where I got my names for them?

About now…

Would be when I hand over the reins to Clyde for quick turn to an introspective look into our souls. Today is different.

Today, my soul ages another year. It is my birthday. The calendar may not have turned many times, but I have had many.

For the first time in more years than I care to remember, I will not be partaking in my birthday tradition. Instead, I have a date with an incessant screen, a dozen manuscripts and a website which is growing forty pages this weekend in preparation for a release date.

I want something from each of you who read this.

Burning HeartInside your heart, there is a message. It is one of gratitude. Appreciation. Affection. You are smiling because you have a warm spot where your mind’s eye is reading the name of the person for whom the message is intended.

Someone touched you. Made your life better. Taught you something. Loved you for no other reason than you are who you are. Believed in you. Made you smile.

Today is probably that person’s unbirthday. Today is a good day to tell that special someone you appreciate the difference they made in your life. Today is a special occasion. You thought of someone who you believe knows how you feel. Today is a good day to remind someone what they mean to you.

The spark of warmth in your heart can calm the winter wind and warm another soul. Do not let the flame flicker. Light fire to someone’s soul today by telling them how important they are to you. Pick up the telephone. Say a prayer. Go in the other room and hold hands. Share the love.

May you celebrate my birthday by sharing the love. I feel it for you and smile because by reminding you, I have shared my love for you.

Until next time,

Red Signature

Can you say yes? Will you share the love today?
