Day 30: All Atwitter

I get excited almost as often as I get defeated. That I even have a post for today is celebration.

You may have noticed I am missing. I have been missing all month. May has been difficult for me. It has culminated in a vacation for me.

Who knows where I am? I have been advertising it for weeks.

No, clicking the ad does not make a penny for anyone until you donate to the Duluth Model. They are the charity who takes donations for Domestic Abuse Intervention Programs. DAIP hosts the Kay Marie Sisto Memorial Walk/Run/Roll.

If you are not familiar with Kim and My Inner Chick, you should stop by and find out more about Kay and why we are going to walk 5K in her memory.

I will never be silent.

I will never allow abuse.

I will educate everyone I can to prevent domestic violence against anyone.

If you will join, Val, Kim and I in support the end of domestic violence, please click the poster above or the ad in the left sidebar and make a donation to DAIP through the Duluth Model. Leave a note to let Kim know where you found out about the walk and why your donation is important.

If you are nearby, come walk with us. The more the better!

While I am in Minnesota, take care of each other. Let’s raise a generation who does not resort to emotional, physical, verbal or financial abuse.

Thank you for your support during the 30 Day Challenge. I would love to see more of you try it.

Please share this post on all of your social media with the hashtag: #enddomesticviolence

Thank you for sharing this message and for any donations you make. Every bit helps. Thank you.

    • I like the sharing suite I have over giving Automattic access to any more of my information. Some days, I am more api-averse than others. Like the days which end in Y.

  3. I support this organization in my country. As you walk, I shall think of you. Chin up. Sisters at attention. YOU can do it!
Early in June, my daughter will be participating in the Relay for Life (all night long run). Odd how SOME friends and absolute strangers come out of the woodwork in support, but family shrink away… hmmm.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Unfortunately, living on a single income right now has made it very difficult to make a contribution, but you have my support in my heart.

    • No worries. Spreading the word is important. It is shameful we even need to draw attention to it. xxx

  6. We have something similar here in the UK which occasionally gets media attention.

I usually donate via street collections and they do quite well! 🙂

As a survivor of domestic violence I should point out that abusers also attack and sometimes kill their children too… 🙁

    Love and hugs!

    • I do not recall, or read for that matter, anything in my post which suggested DV was not directed at children. In fact, there are more adult men who are domestically abused than you might at first believe. Abuse is abuse regardless of who is the offender or the victim. Perhaps one day I will tell my survival story. As for now, it is not what defines me as an individual, which is why I keep it close to the vest.
