Hot Flash

FlamesThe publisher said Friday. She heard the letter drop into the box as she paced a hole in the floor.

She sat in the hall staring at the box. Gingerly, she lifted the flap and took it out to read each word in slow motion.

Elated, she ran upstairs shouting.

  6. So good, you nailed it. I struggle with 75 words, I don’t know how (or if) I will ever do 50. Eeek

You know I am you biggest fan (no that isn’t a size thing).

  7. I’m in! I plan do do all of the flash words. This challenge offered me a new way to write, and taught me how to condense an idea with a beginning, middle and end into few words. It has also helped me in conversations when I am boring people with too many details! haha

  8. I love ‘she paced a hole in the floor’. Feels like its so thin she’ll break through any moment. Her anxiety and the significance of pacing is palpable.

    I feel the tension.
