Flash in the Pan

“Turn to the left.”

“Now, turn to the right.”

“No, stop smiling. These are mug shots, not glamour portraits.”

“Relax your hand or the scanner will smudge your prints.”

“Stay here while I get a coffee.”

“No, you may not have one until you are booked.”

Corporal Cavendish blew the steam off the top of the paper cup and held the report up so he could read it.

Disgusted, he dropped it on his desk and eyeballed his father-in-law. “Exactly what shall I tell your wife when she asks me what possessed you to flash the mayor?”

Welcome to “Flash in the Pan”

All you get in December is 100 words. This flash nips the upper limit at 97. The word for this week is flash. A different sort of police adventure this is than last week.

If you are playing along for Flash in the Pan, or would like to join for the first time, visit the Flash in the Pan page to learn how to be a part of the second edition of FTP. One more week to get your flashes in order.

Happy Flashing!

~~~~~~~~~~
Have you ever streaked or flashed someone? Did you get caught? What would you tell your mother-in-law? What if it was you?
Merry Christmas!
  1. So sorry Red…but I think I am a bit lost here. Is the one who is being ordered around is the mayor?
    By the way, can I published my last stories after December? I can’t squeeze it because I have so many to share on the last week of December but I want to finish my Martha and John story with the current words
  10. What a conundrum! Father-in-law flashing the mayor and his wife yet to hear about it. I wonder about the backstory. So much here to think about, Red. Four thumbs up! Loving this.
