Flash in the Pan

“We can’t stay here.”

“What choice do we have? She is still to frail to travel.” Monica hardly kept her voice from cracking. Her staples were pulling from the effort to keep from crying.

“Are you?”

“It will hurt, but I can if I have to. I don’t want to risk it. What if she dies?” She shivered at the thought.

“One less mouth to feed.”

Welcome to “Flash in the Pan”

This question factory comes against the 150-word upper limit at a paltry 67. Featuring the word travel this is the last of the flashes for this quarter. These last two were time warp for me. I hope you have liked them.

How many flashes do you have in? You have a wee bit over 24 hours to meet the deadline of 30SEP13 at 2359 EDT (GMT -5). Or are you the speedy hare and beat me to the end? Thank you for flying with The M3 Blog for another quarter of Flash in the Pan. It has been an interesting ride!

Happy Flashing!

Who are these people, and why are they leaving? Who is too frail to travel? Is Monica’s companion cruel or pragmatic?

  1. I’m not sure who they are, but perhaps they should be saying, “You can’t keep me here!” <3

    Deliciously chilling!

    Criminals running from the law!
I think Monica recently had a baby and the kid is too sick to travel. Baby-Daddy is cruelly pragmatic.

  4. Susan, that’s my take too. Staples, travelling if necessary, baby too young to travel. Daddy could care less.

He’s pragmatic, maybe, but I believe he hopes there will be one less mouth to feed.

    Another awesome entry, Red.
