Guest FTP Post: Gail Thornton

As I am busy building, breaking, coding and recoding, Gail offered to spot me a post. She offers her version of the Flash in the Pan for the word fire.

The summer semester promised a wealth of interest and fun. She’d be an assistant director to the researcher on the whale watch boats sighting Humpback pods in Cape Cod Bay. The work was fascinating, and her keen interest and people skills made her the most valuable crew member. She acted a liaison with the people watching, and took statistics on the mother whales bringing the young to the side of the boat to show them off. Toward October, however, the winds picked up, and they gave her the added responsibility of counting trash on the side of the boat. She never thought the director would fire her for refusing, but he did. She showed up the next day, and what happened next, was mind-blowing.

Welcome to “Flash in the Pan”

The word of the Gail chose is fire, and the word limit for this flash is 125 words. This comes in barely under the buzzer at 124 words. She chose fire as a verb.

Stop by Gail’s World to see what she has going on these days!

If you are playing along for Flash in the Pan, or would like to join for the first time, visit the Flash in the Pan page to see the whys and wherefores on how to get started. This edition has a theme, so be sure to get all the details.

Happy Flashing!

  2. I have really enjoyed reading Gail’s FTP Red and what a fine gesture to offer it in this way, I like that a lot. Now you go and pop the kettle on, it is high time that you relaxed of an evening instead of rushing around meeting deadlines.

You need some pampering “Bear, this is your department and I expect you to be the perfect gentleman as you… okay naughty is good also 😉 lol”

Right I am out of here, it is already late as I waffle on and on here, and I am out early in the morning, so instead of a lengthy comment I will just ease on the lid early for a change 🙂 lol

    Be good, wicked
    and naughty Red 😉

  4. From assistant director to trash counter is a major step down. Love this idea for ‘fire’, Gail.

Red, catch a break, will you? As in DOWN time?
