Day 28: Now Boarding

I have asked this question to many, and the answer is one of the top of the bucket list for most everyone I know.ย Where do you want to move or visit?

Everyone who speaks to me knows I want to move… yesterday. While I continue to claim I want to move home, I recently revealed to Val I wanted to live here:

black box

Oh, silly me. Let me turn on a light for you. Is this better?

kungur cave water

That is right. I want to move into a cave. I can live without the light which kills my eyes. I can decorate with rocks (largely inexpensive) and not look like a cheapskate. Fresh water. Air conditioned without electricity. Great acoustics.

No door bell. No cell signal. No drop in visitors without rappelling gear. Plus, what does drop in is a food store. Never again would I hear the wordsย We don’t deliver that far.

If you could move somewhere else, name five reasons why you would move. (Place not necessary to name.)

    • That is not far from my hometown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I have been to a few military tournaments at Ole Miss.

  2. If you lived in cave, you wouldn’t have internet! (or electricity for that matter). If money were no object, I would move to Tahiti, buy my own island and build my own house. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. That is a great question and a more difficult question than it sounds like. I say that because no matter where I want to live there is always that pesky ‘daily life’ thin to contend with. Many people want to move to a warm climate or whatever, except when they move there they can’t actually enjoy it because they need to work.

I would love to live closer to my family. They live in Wisconsin/Minnesota and I live in Massachusetts. While I am where I need to be, it is sometimes difficult to be so far away.

Other than that I am really not sure because I would have to visit there first. So, I want to visit the entire U.S. and then I will get back to you. Bottom line is I will go where I am called to go and serve. (except certain parts of the south — you know where those places are) ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I’d live July-September on Cape Cod. But the rest of the year right here.

    Why the Cape?
    Atmosphere
    Summer climate
    On the ocean
Close enough to play in Boston and hang out on the North Shore
Did I mention summer climate? Notice that I am “in TX”!

    • LOL! I love the Texas heat. I am so ready to be anywhere which is not here. And there are very nice caves in TX! xxx

  5. ๐Ÿ™„ Love the cave idea! Any visitors who drop in unannounced will get what’s coming to them… at terminal velocity.

Me? Need to get back to the beach or lakeside. Would love to live in NYC again, or even SF but neither of the latter are financially viable.
Actually. moving across the street isn’t financially viable.
Maybe I’ll go spelunking this weekend and find me one of them thar beautiful sun dappled caves you mentioned.

    • Oh, I want to go! I need to come out to your neck of the woods. I have a trip planned to NYC before the end of the year. Rumor has it it may fall through. If it does, I am headed your way. xxx

There’s so much out there, why not try to see it and experience it all?

  7. I love being near the water, despite I am still here in Texas I truly would not mind going back to Houston. I miss Houston. I miss the city, I miss the weather, I miss well just everything.

In all honesty, despite what I say so frequently about moving to Ecuador or Costa Rica, I have lived many places both in the US and abroad. I always come home to Texas. Despite all its problems, this is home.

    • Which is me and Louisiana. No matter how far away I go, or how long I stay, I always go home. Can we take a year in Ecuador? I would hate to miss someplace I would actually like…

  8. Haha, all the stuff you don’t like is what I would not mind. My cell phone never rings unless it’s my boyfriend or a wrong number (no, not even my kids call) and I think we had 2 people over since October, and that was not for entertaining, they were just passing through.

Sounds to me like you need a different set of circumstances, not a new place to live!

Seriously though, as a kid I wanted to either move to Australia or America. Well, I got my second wish. As they say, be careful what you wish for. It’s good now, but it was hell for a long time.

It matters not where you are as long as you are with the right people, is my philosophy.

    • It truly is the fact I am alone here. I have some Quaints, but there is no one who really fits the bill when it comes to having friends. I am so glad you and Tom found each other. Happy looks really good on you. xxx

  9. If I won the lottery I’ll move to Whitby, home of the Goths! ๐Ÿ™‚

Find a good house and a housekeeper, move my life down there and say goodby to two-faced, lying, thieving neighbours!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

    But first I have to win… ๐Ÿ™

    Love and hugs!

  10. I would love to live in the Florida Keys. It is a beautiful place to live surrounded by water and nature. My husband and I love sailing, fishing, kayaking and swimming among other things. The Keys would be great for these activities and the people are really friendly and laid-back like we wish we were. Maybe some of that will rub off. Haha!
