Wordless (after) Wednesday

With all the talk of color on Monday, I thought I would be a bit of a weed and post something in monochrome… along with some color for Mardi Gras and Valentine’s Day.

I hope you have had a very nice Mardi Gras and Hallmark Day.

(Click the images if you would like to see the fractals larger.)

Which fractal is the most interesting to you? Do you like a particular style better than others? Would you have named them something different?

  1. I think the one for me I love the most is the Carnivale Contact … Love the intricate shapes…. And it reminds me of the flower of life.. the spiral all rolled into one…
I hope you had a wonderful Wednesday Red and as you can see by my arrival here several times this past week.. I have had a few days spare to browse and catch up on some blogging…
I dont think I have ever blogged 3 times in one week!.. But it looks like I may break a record by the end of today!..

    • I hope you have had a happy Hallmark Day. I love that your allotment is coming along so nicely. I am looking forward to what you will have sprouting this spring!

I think CC is my favorite of this bunch. When I made it, I stared at it for a while. There is a lot to see in it. And when you enlarge it, the detail is amazing. Have a beautiful morning, Sue. I am glad you had some time to spend with me today. xxx

  2. Heartfly did seem to be taking to wing. And Lieutenant To Bridge made me go back for another look, though I don’t know why….

    I’m enjoying these!

    • When I made it, I saw the antennae and knew what I was going to name it. Hybrid just sounded wrong πŸ˜‰ I am glad you like these. They are very therapeutic for me. xxx

  3. Nice set.
There’s a bit of extra elegance in the black and white one.

    • That was the first one I tried in only greyscale. It is far more challenging to get depth and contour with only black and white. I am going to attempt some more intricate detail work with B/W to see if I can come up with some pretty ones. Glad you and TMWGITU had a nice Hallmark Day.

    • Thank you. These are relaxing. Janet will tell you they are addicting. I just have to set my OCD to a lower level so I can be patient enough to make them look good and happy enough with them not to toss the computer out onto the lawn πŸ˜‰ Happy Hallmark Day! {HUGZ}

  5. Yes, they do have the ability to teach us patience!
I can see it now… you standing on the porch looking out at your smokin’ computer cracklin’ and spittin’ while you say “a fractal made me do it”!!!

I love both Shoulder Blades and Carnivale. You are right about the detail being so much cooler when enlarged!! I specially like the colors of Shoulder Blade.

    Keep ’em coming, my friend!!!

    • They will be coming, Janet. I have a folder with around 60 in it. There are two progressions and three sphericals which are suitable for memes (see next post), but the rest are genuine one-ofs..

I am getting better detail by adjusting the gamma parameters to add detail and decrease both noise and blur. The amount of detail two transforms will create is nothing shy of phenomenal.

      Much love <3

PS I am going to have to redownload FE. My copy was incomplete or corrupt. I am nearly finished with all the gadgets in A, shy some plugins, which I am going to save until I am more familiar with the equations they represent. πŸ™‚

  7. Your creativity is growing stronger and stronger with every attempt, and your Heartfly for Valentine’s Day is absolutely superb πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I do like all of them and perhaps you should do some more in the monochrome style as I think that b&w offerings are just as exciting as the coloured alternatives πŸ™‚

Have a lovely weekend Red πŸ™‚ xxxx

    • I have been playing more with the monochromes at the creation level. While it may be interesting to go back to ones I liked and change them to greyscale, I really prefer to make them fresh. I am glad you like these.

  8. I like the last one the best. The second one reminds me of a spirograph wheel/gear.

    • The color in that one really did pop. I got Little V a spirograph for Cmas. She loves it almost as much as I did when I was a child.

  9. This fractal stuff is pretty cool but I think they use computer and not a pen from Walgreen’s like me. Showoffs !

    • I do these with a computer. I have been doing them for years. The originals I have from the early ’80s are all hand drawn in pencil, charcoal, colored pencil and fine tipped markers.
