  1. Does that plant have little square pods that turn into the flowers? I think that is the same kind of plant my mother used to have a long time ago.

Yes, and they look plastic. When they bloom, the petals are furry and still look plastic.

      • I’d forgotten what the flowers looked like! That’s them, all right. I used to pop open those little square pods sometimes. Such an unusual plant.

Yes, well, I did not realize until after you asked last night I had not posted the actual blossoms. Ugh. I need a vaca. On a brighter note, apparently, I am going to swap for a different species of this one 🙂

This is one to replace my mother’s. She got it when I was in kindergarten and it froze winter before last. The moment I saw it I snagged it. Although it is not supposed to like indoors, it is quite content on the breakfast bar in my kitchen. 😉

      • It seems to enjoy it indoors by the look of that plant, it is thriving 🙂 You have done really well with it…

Yes. It is a spoon ring with white and China blue enamel insets. They are Danish flowers.

It is. My aloes and agaves are ready to go back outdoors though. My century plant is ready for some hot sun. In fact, I believe I am as well. 😉

  3. My mother calls this plant Nocturnal buttons because they only seem to perfume the night. Lovely plant and easy to propagate, if you were inclined to ever share your lovely plant with a clone of same…hint-hint! 😉

  4. Oh, I’m kidding. I believe I have the same one. If it was a different cultivar, however, I may have taken you up on the generous offer. Thanks.

Definitely going to have an exchange program. Trade you a piece of mine for a variegated one. 😉

  6. Sure! That sounds like a fabulous idea! I just checked them and one of my plants looks like it’s got the starts of something (not leaves, )coming up all over the end of several stems…..hopefully, it’s going to flower. I’d give you a few pieces. Have to figure out how to ship them. I usually wrap stems in a moist paper towel and then wrap that in plastic wrap or put it in a plastic baggie. I’m thinking these would ship well in cardboard paper towel tubes.

They will. I know I have some round mailers around here. I need to pick up some rooting hormone. That way whilst they are in the dark they can use the warmth to begin putting out more feelers. I have a couple which are fresh babies to send you. Plus, it will save me from needed to repot immediately.

      • We need to swap addresses, somehow. You can see my email address here, I hope…..I’m so excited, I’d jump up and down, but I’ve had the most awful stomach something for most of the week, so I’ll cool my jets!

  7. Just calling by to have another look at your plant before I leave for the morning, I need a coffee hit while I read some of my hand written scrawls from this morning, of course I have just added a posting from 2008 to whet any appetites for the medieval themes on my Space, not that many have survived with me constantly deleting posts…

Indeed it would appear to any newcomers that I have only added around 40 postings to my Space, and goodness knows how many there would have been had I not filed away my earlier efforts? 🙂 Okay I am wittering on again so have a very nice rest of evening and be good 🙂

Glad you stopped back by for the actual flowers. Doh. That is what I get for answering the blooming tele whilst I work. Have a cup for me. I am needing another pot about now. See you on my morrow, my friend.
