Flash in the Pan

You sat on the pier for nearly an hour.

As the sun fell into the far side of the lake, you stood, holding it in your hands.Β You closed your eyes, extended your arms and let it fall from your hands.

Did the guilt diminish as the last ripple faded away?

Welcome to “Flash in the Pan”

This little number weighs in against the 75 word upper limit for October at a mere 51 words. Like last week, this is another one I added more words. This week’s word isΒ ripple.

If you are playing along for Flash in the Pan, or would like to join for the first time, visit the Flash in the Pan page to see the how and why and theme and, and, and. Not to mention, you can see all the other people who have joined in the challenge. Be a part of the second edition of FTP.

Happy Flashing!

~~~~~~~~~~
What did you drop in the water? Should someone call the EPA or the police? What is there which makes sitting beside a lake one of the most peaceful places on Earth to gather your wits, work out emotions or just soak in the scenery?
  1. No guilt at all, nothing to diminish. the glitter blended with the sun, sparkling as it hit the water. Ahhh, another one sinks to the muck.
  2. It’s over. Finally. That’s all that matters. And now you can move on.
  3. I dropped a wedding band. It was the final act of separation from 32 years ago. I wasn’t ready to let go until now. The ripples on the beautifully calm and serene water implied the ripple effect that my act of letting go will have for me. I feel no emotion, but a keen sense of freedom.
