If I was on death row, I can bet I had a long time to plan my last meal. I asked others this question a long time ago, but I never answered for myself. Here goes in seven courses.
One dozen fresh shucked oysters on the half shell with a seafood sauce of one part ketchup, two parts horseradish, three dashes of Tabasco, three dashes of Tiger Sauce, 5 shakes of Tony Chachere’s extra spicy, squeeze of lemon. Served with Shiner Bohemian Black Lager.
Three pounds of steaming hot, boiled crawfish with all the trimmings and an icy bucket of Shiner Prickly Pear.
Turtle soup with sourdough baguette crostini and a Bloody Mary.
Slivered salad of grape tomato, endive, radicchio, fennel root, frisé, Italian cucumber, Spanish olives, brined artichoke hearts, pecans and goat cheese in a raspberry-walnut vinaigrette. Pair this with a double Aneurysm. (Black Haus Blackberry Schnapps and Ouzo)
Shrimp and Andouille jambalaya, crawfish potato au gratin and sugar snaps, served with 2010 Fetzer Gerwurztraminer.
Classic New York cheesecake topped with raspberry compote and cinnamon almonds. The only thing to have with this is 2008 Gaston Chiquet Insolent.
Dark roast Community Coffee, black and sweet, with a snifter of 1926 Château de Montifaud, Heritage Louis Vallet and an Oliva Serie V Melanio Figurado.
After all the best, I am done. The long nap awaits.
