Dr. Maslov sat on his side of the desk, pensive. In 32 years of practice, he was certain he’d never met anyone more deranged than Jill Elizabeth Schultz.
She admitted to killing her family, not only her parents but also her husband and children. She explained in gory detail how she had administered death to each of them and why.
She applied fresh lipstick before she floated out of his office. As the last of her perfume wafted across his nostrils he wondered; was he as ill as she for understanding her logic? Yes, he was going to keep her secret.
As we close October and the 100-word limit, this flash comes in on the nose featuring the wordΒ deranged.
DelusionalΒ is off to a roaring start! Have you seen some of the new flashers? Take a moment after you comment to go see who is flashing now. Welcome the new ones to our flashing family.
Next week, be on the look out for the new Flash in the Pan book. Finding the Path will be out on 01NOV13 at RedmundPro. The Flash in the Pan collection will also be on sale as a bundle.
Happy Flashing!
Are you deranged if you can understand why people do atrocious things? Do you have to say, “I can’t get there from here.”?

/ October 27, 2013Kablam! This one is the ultimate in flash fiction, and I love it! It has character, plot, conflict and resolution. Brilliant! And the use of her full given name adds credence and drama to what unfolds in the story. Great job, Red.

/ October 28, 2013Slam dunk. This one is intense because of the unspoken gory details. Funny the doctor wondering about himself and her calm as anything applying lipstick. They’re both deranged. *cackles*
I agree, you flashes are getting better and better, or should I be saying weirder and weirder. π
