Saturday Evening Post

Venti LatteWhile The M3 Blog may have been quiet ground, the rest of the week shaped up to be exciting and exhausting. The snow only lasted ten minutes. Grab a cuppa and snuggle into a rocker. Let’s talk.

The M3 Blog

This week saw the introduction to something I have been petitioned to do for a long time: the addition of memes and covers. I have been making covers on the sly for ages. I will be adding a page which will include them all, with instructions. I have two avenues…would you rather have them as downloads or as right-click-and-save?

More writerly posts are due up. One with which I have struggled… mainly because there is just no nice way to put it. Meh. It will go live sooner than I am ready for certain, but it will go live. Another is tips and tricks.

I am also taking requests. Stay tuned.

I am gearing up to release a new book on 01MAR13. It went to layout this week. Mantra has been a busy muse in more ways than merely the art I am producing at the moment.

Mantra’s Book of Shadows is a collection of dark poetry. Thus far, reviews contain the following words:

Soul gripping

Overall, I agree. Book of Shadows will be available in paperback, PDF, ebook and Kindle in the RedmundPro book store.

Perhaps, I can manage to add a stop on the Book Tour to include this new book as well. There are still two review copies available. If you would like to review MBS, let me know in the comments or in the SIB.

This week saw my reappearance on Google+. After a few months of arguing, I convinced Google, again, I was precisely who I claimed to be. Seeing my credit card helped. Once they realized I have all of their products in the same name, companies notwithstanding, my new G+ profile is live.

Alongside it, the Redmund Productions G+ page is also live. Stop by and follow along. As with all my social media connections, I will not be flooding your streams with adverts for my things, but supporting the many talented people who pass through both M3 and RP.

Red Dwyer Headshot

Normally, this is the space where I turn things over to our contemplative orangutan. Today, Clyde is taking a breather. Instead, you are left only with me.

This has likely been one of the toughest weeks I have survived in years. Rest your worry, no one in my immediate circle is dead. The highlight reel of this week has included all of the following:

  • Death of a Quaint’s husband (expected, sort of)
  • Inequity of trust
  • Planar levels of commitment
  • Ingratitude
  • Anniversary of death of someone I love and miss
  • Corporate stumbling blocks (boulders)
  • Minor technical difficulties
  • Code, computer and human
  • Pain
  • Termination of a business associate
  • Emotional turmoil for close friends
  • Attempted hacking
  • Denial of ability
  • Setback in cognitive development for my son
  • Helplessness due to a refusal to be helped

Why am I sharing this with you? It is necessary in the virtual world to occasionally remind everyone I am not bulletproof. Although I uphold the importance and necessity of friendship, camaraderie and social outlets, they are not all as uplifting as need be to erase reality from our lives.

Each of us deals with heartache, heartbreak and tragedy on emotional, personal and corporate grounds in our own ways. While the surface may look smooth, never assume the rip tide beneath the surface is not there. Often, the events which make us the strongest are witnessed by no one who judges us as weak, for those who see weakness in us have no concept of the power of the current we fight to stay the course.

Those you may see as weak may surpass your own strength should you take the time to know what they have survived.

Until next time,

  1. I will settle for just you anytime Red but Clyde is always welcome, well I have to say that or he may try out his right turn on me 🙂 lol

From that list you certainly have had a tough week but the main thing is that you have come through it and are here adding to your wonderful M3 and RP creativity, and I am positive that everyone here enjoys your excellent commitment in whatever you are doing.

I noticed that you were on G+ mind you that is one place that I am hardly ever around on being that I was automatically joined to it when I started my Youtube. At the time I wasn’t even aware that they were linked.

Mantra’s Book of Shadows sounds a very interesting read to me and should do extremely well I think 🙂 🙂 I hope so anyway as you certainly deserve it 🙂

    • You Tube auto links one to G+? Then I’m on there and don’t even know it.
I once looked at signing up for Google mail, but never gave it out to anyone as I forgot how to get in (IF I even finished the signup).
There’s an ever-lengthening ltrail of little dead memberships ghosting along behind me.

      • It does, but until you fill it out, it is not somewhere anyone will attempt to find you 😉

    • I am hoping this book appeals to a large crowd. It covers some of the darker aspects of our human nature and drips a bit of blood onto the pages. One of the best compliments I have had on it was it left the reader breathless. Those moments of speechlessness let me know I am hitting the mark. 😉

  2. Dear Red,
Do you believe in auras? I thought I saw yours keenly this week. To be able to share this week’s markers with all of us is a sign of your strength and a sign of your humanity, which I never doubted. I would be so happy to review Mantra’s Book of Shadows. Honored, really. From my aura to you.

    • I do. I see enough of them, and it would not surprise me in the slightest for you to have seen mine. I would love for you to comment about what you saw on that post 😉

  3. Those that see weakness have never had to be so strong.

    • I tend to agree with that. Those who have been strong often feel empathy for those who appear weak because they know there is always more than what meets the eye.

  4. Pace yourself. It can catch up with you..

    • Actually, I do. I have been to the hospital when I have not. I may be bullheaded, but I am not stupid. 😉

  5. Sounds as if you had a pretty tough week. We never really know what others go through, as we only glimpse a portion of their lives, no mater how well we know them. I certainly hope things improve for you in the coming weeks.

    • It certainly shall. My grandfather always told me, “Smile. It could be worse.” Despite my cheeky retort every time, he was always right.

  6. Red, I love that pic of you. You have very smooth complexion, you know?

Re reminding us you’re not bulletproof – actually, I appreciate that. You do seem so positive, forward, strong, accomplishing ; ie bullet-proof. But really, you are one of us – only in top gear ALL the time.

I am sorry this week wasn’t so good – especially your recall of loss. But the hacking – where did that come from? I wonder how you knew about it, how you dealt with it. How sinister. That’s pretty rotten, REALLY rotten. Glad they didn’t succeed.

Good for you to take some time out, breathe, yoga or whatever, and come back next week, or whenever you feel to, refreshed. I really wish you well, Red, N’n.

    • Thank you, Noeleen. Oil of Olay. Since I was fourteen. It works.

The hacker is a wannabe who is out to inconvenience me. Typical. Nothing to worry, as my security is really good. It just took the investigators a bit to get him cycled to his true IP address, as he was using a skipper.

I have a couple days off before the book tour next week. I am going to use them to be unplugged 😉 Great to see you this morning.

  7. Everyone seems to forget the riptide.

And the strength and stamina it takes to survive it. Please be well and rejuvenated Red.

    • I use that metaphor because it is the same in real life as it is emotionally. The sparkling water is beautiful and inviting. Great to see you today, Colleen. <3

    Glad you’re OK hun! 🙂

Hope you get a chance to take a break!!!

    Love and hugs!

  9. “While the surface may look smooth, never assume the rip tide beneath the surface is not there.” Red, you have a real talent for honing in (or is that homing in?) on the heart of things and expressing them in just the right words. May all go more smoothly in your future.

    • Both are correct 😉 I am certain the week ahead will be significantly improved. Great to see you tonight, RLB.
