My eclectic taste runs deeply. Very deeply. This will likely be a surprise.
One of the disturbing joys of growing older is watching those you adore age. Worse still is watching them die. What does this have to do with being attractive? Some of the men I have found most attractive have left for the Happy Hunting Ground. These are in no particular order.
Let’s start with a live one.
No? Maybe one or two where you can place the television series?
Surely, you remember Maverick. How about this one?
Even at 85, I still have a soft spot for his expressions, laugh and great voice.
Another octogenarian on my Mmm list has made an appearance on M3 more than once. The first is one of his calling cards on one of my calling cards. The second happens to be my ring back tone. You may even have noticed his weekly appearances in the last, say, year.
Here is a photo from around the time color film was invented.
Since everyone in the next picture is dead, you have a one in four shot of guessing which one I think was the sexiest:
If you guessed Dan Blocker, let me kick you in the shin. If you guessed Michael Landon, you do not know I do not like to look men eye-to-eye. If you guessed Pernell Roberts, you almost got it. Who guessed it was the Canadian with the great voice?
Now, if you had shown me this picture of the ugly duckling…
I never would have guessed he would have grown up to be this sexy thing.
Well, maybe. Instead, he blossomed around 50. Some of his best voice work was with Disney-Pixar and as the voice of Chevrolet after his 60th birthday.
You may remember when his hair was this color. He was cute.
So, maybe you remember it darker when he starred with Cher inΒ Mask. This is an improvement.
Fortunately for everyone, he stopped shaving off his mustache and laid off the Grecian Formula for the last 20ish years.
What do they all have in common besides 25+ years on me? Great voices. To me, being sexy is not about a boyish face or a terrific physique or evenΒ mathematical beauty. Lively eyes, a great smile, confidence and voice do more for me than any pin up ever will.
Would you have guessed any of the above? Which Cartwright did you pick? I promise not to laugh when you tell me why.

/ May 13, 2013I am also a sucker for voices, I love when they rumble. Beauty only goes so deep, smiles that are a bit crooked, eyes that sparkle and a voice that makes your toes curl.
Yes please.

Tony Curtis
Brad Pitt
Benjamin Bratt
I would have thought they would have made it onto your list, considering the feedback I’ve heard from women. lol! π

/ May 28, 2013Tony was a cutie. Benjamin Bratt has assets… ’nuff said, since those will fade measurably. Brad Pitt I would not give the time of day much less the time of his life. Just eww.

/ May 28, 2013Ah, but they are all a tad on the young side for me when I was forming my taste. You need to see my post on music to understand why “popular” is not my genre π The height issue is a DNA thing. In my denouement, I am not opposed to shorter men as I was vehemently in my youth.
Wendy Reid
/ May 13, 2013Red, nothing you do surprises me anymore and your choices in men are no exception. I’m a tad more shallow than you are. Give me half my age, flat belly, pretty face…and my other requirements I will keep to myself just in case it might offend some of your other readers. π

/ May 14, 2013Little Joe was my favorite Cartwright. Henry Darrow as Manoleto on High Chaparral was the “hunk” on there, but I liked Cameron Mitchell too. Robert Fuller, James Stacy, Guy Williams, Jock Mahoney (Yancy Derringer, and Sally Fields’ father or stepfather can’t remember which)…Do we see a trend here?
As for Pretty Boys, Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt when they were young. Richard Grieco (sp?) a Canadian who played Booker on the show of the same name.
But if you’re talking sexy…Gilbert Roland (Yeah, I hear everyone asking, WHO?) and Guy Williams who played the Disney Zorro.
I must be leaving out a lot…getting old…can’t remember their names….
